Backpacks for the Homeless

100 members and their families came together on a Sunday afternoon to put items of need in backpacks for the homeless.  Through our partnership with Amazon and the generous donations from Amplify Austin, we were able to provide 60 backpacks that contained wipes, hand sanitizer, underwear, socks, sanitary items, water bottles, hand warmers, and shoes to the homeless. The backpacks were distributed under HWY 183 on Research Boulevard in North Austin.

2021 SIFMA Stock Market Competition

The 100 Black Men of Austin, Inc. has started a pilot to introduce high school students to investment and stocks.  The Stock Market Game is an online simulation of the global capital markets and engages students in grades 4-12 in the world of economics, investing and personal finance with the goal of preparing them for financially independent futures. Participants are given a virtual $100,000 to invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds over a 10 – week period (January – April). Played as a team of 3-5 members, students develop and enhance skills in leadership, management, research, problem solving, and team-building.  Charles Schwab and NFP partnered with the 100 to share their expertise and provide mentoring resources along the way.
