100 Black Men of Austin Host 4th Annual Cultural Competency Event for Teachers and Students

The 100 Black Men of Austin hosted the 4th annual Cultural Competency Initiative (CCI) event for teachers at Black Pearl Books.  125 teachers (3,125 students impacted) received 5 books of color, a gift card, a puzzle from Puzzle Huddle, and we randomly selected 10 teachers to receive Kendra Scott Jewelry just in time for the 2024 – 2025 academic school year.  Black Pearl Books invited author, Anne Wynter to sign her book, Patrick and the Not So Perfect Party for all of the teachers receiving her book.  This year’s numbers bring our grand total to 725 teachers and 17,825 students impacted by the CCI Initiative.
